Normally used in high horsepower street and race applications where the factory style block cannot hold up to high horsepower Extremes. Often characterized by thick and reinforced construction and design depending upon the manufacturer. Available in Iron, Aluminum and Billet Aluminum. We suggest using and aftermarket style block for 600 horsepower and above in standard pushrod applications.
Main Girdles help to reinforce the motors bottom end by strengthening the mains and dissipating vibration. This reduces the requirement of replacing the main caps in all but the most violent applications.
